I 've had the Annie Sloan's dark wax since my birthday and have used it a few times but I really wanted to go big on this piece...
Here's how it looked before....a nice piece and very solid.
I bought the Duck Egg Blue color recently as well as the Antibes green....
The duck egg is a little turquoise and the dark wax looks nice on top of it...

And I wanted to try crackling the paint as well with the hairdryer since I wanted to dark wax....which was really fun!
I started with one coat that I painted on to get the piece covered and then added thick areas of paint in smaller sections and dried them with the hairdryer.
Then moved on to another section and so on. Mostly on the drawer fronts and the top of the piece.
Still not sure about the dark wax....
With this look it works in the cracks and all the low parts of the texture.
I think it seems really strong but I liked it over this color. Not so much on the paler colors like the Old White...
Definitely a different look and fun to see the paint crack and dry so quickly....
I like the combination of the feminine style of the piece itself with the dark aged finish....
Ah. I love the crackle. I'm going to have to try this:)
