More new things...

Remember this little table we found on our flea market trip???  This is before...

Here's the after!  I love the color.  It's called "Sprinkler"
 Some of my husband's handiwork...
This is another of our items at Winsome Cottage we delivered for the opening.  I'm planning on doing some jewelry this week!  Which I'm looking forward to.
Nothing new on the house front.  We showed it last week on Monday to someone moving here from Wisconsin but never heard anything more....

Kids' Dresser

I love the shape of this kids' dresser...
And the hardware is so art deco...love that too.  Things have been a little crazy around here lately or I would've taken better "before" pics...
We delivered it to Winsome Cottage today for her big grand opening tomorrow!  Looks a little different painted leaf green with some numbers on it....
You may also recognize our little galvanized topped table and my little chair with the French sign hanging on it.  I'm so honored to have some of my work showcased in the window!!!  I have some more things to show you later this week :)
And our latest house news : Our buyers backed out.  So back to square one...

French sign

A little something for Winsome Cottage just for fun:)  Aged galvanized metal with an ad for fabric to make clothing...
We're still in limbo on our house.  I've come to the conclusion that I just won't know what to do with myself when we do finally move.  I won't believe it until I'm sleeping under a different roof and it's all said and done!
Someone else is coming to look at it tonight and we haven't heard back yet from the people we have the contract with....but they are planning on signing a release from our contract if they can't get their financing worked out today.

Fripperies

We spent the day working at Winsome Cottage getting ready for the big opening next week-end!  Lot's of fun working with my husband.
These are some more of the pillow shams that I made which I showed a few of in a previous post...
Having LOTS of fun being creative.  We also heard from our realtor today and they are thinking that our buyers are probably going to end up backing out.  We won't know "officially" until Monday so we'll see --as this saga continues to unfold.

Furniture madness

Things around here are pretty crazy...the buyers of our house are having an issue with their financing so we're WAITING...
We've been looking.  Only been inside 2 places.  One of which could be a possibility.  We'll see what happens.

My friend who runs Winsome Cottage is moving to a bigger and better location.  She offered to let us put more things into her shop.  Needless to say we were THRILLED!  Her big opening is in about a week so we are pushing hard to complete some things to sell, and my husband is doing some things for her in sheet metal that will be part of the shop itself.
I worked on this cute little dresser today....these are the before pictures...check back for the "afters" that 's always the best part!
And we have a few other little bits and pieces we'll be taking.  Another metal topped table, a small 2 door metal file drawer....Did I mention we're also selling our house and trying to move?!??!?!  Ahhh life is never boring.  It's always just so good when GOD is in it :)

House hunting

I've only moved 2 times in my life...both were because I got married.  My first marriage was a total disaster.  After about 2 months of marriage, he was diagnosed with something called Borderline Personality Disorder.  A fancy way of saying he was abusive.  GOD protected me in so many ways I cannot even begin to list them.  And then I met my soulmate.  We are happily married and living in the home he lived in (with his first wife)....except that now it's us and our two sweet babies and we've outgrown it.  But it's where God saw fit to leave us.  And in that time something funny happened....I kinda got attached to it doing all the work in it to improve it.
I previously posted that we showed it twice -----and now we have a contract for them to buy it.  The inspection was today.  ALOT of emotions right now.  Excited to see what God has for our family next, scared that my sweet babies will struggle to adjust to a new place, worried about finding something we like that suits our needs, dreading packing up everything in our house, amazed that in the horrible housing market we were able to sell our home in only a few short months to the FIRST people who looked at it....God's like that.  Shaking things up just when you get comfortable:)  You just never know what He has in store.  Stay posted.  I'm still trying to work on things for Winsome Cottage.  I'm finding that very comforting right now.  Below are some pillow shams I finished up last week....hoping to work on some more tomorrow...

Twin Chairs

So here are the "twins" in all their glory...
And the whole set together on our wet, rainy driveway ;)
Love the canvas with the soft, pale blue color and the chippy paint....
Some simple grosgrain ties to finish them off.  Very liveable.  And very satisfying to see them here all finished up the way I saw them in my head all along!  Working on some pillow shams....

New finds

We had some fun today!  We went to Urbana fairgrounds today for the first time.
We scored some cool stuff...LOVE the feed sacks especially the one above...and I have some ideas for them.
This little metal cart folds up too and I think the lady was really excited that we bought it....
I cannot lie.  I wanna keep this one!  I don't think I've ever seen a red barn light.  They're usually always green or white.  And last we found a sweet little table to cover with galvanized or possibly some zinc.  We haven't decided yet.
Total spent today $70.  SCORE!!!!

Silver"wares"

Stamped on some old silverware this morning....
And we actually saw the SUN today for the first time in a LONG time.
These are headed to Winsome Cottage along with the table and chairs....still more to come.  No word on our house yet.  We have someone interested but no offer yet.  Still praying.  And trying to be good "waiters" :)

Crazy life!

I have no photos!  What in the world...life is so crazy sometimes.  When it rains it pours.  We're in the midst of some changes with my husband's medicine and researching our insurance coverage etc.  Then my friend at Winsome Cottage asked us if we'd like to get more involved putting things in her store and we were so excited about trying some new ideas, painting and metal work...and I'm chomping at the bit to do some sewing for her too.
So then Sunday before leaving for church (to cook dinner for 20 some college students) the realtor calls :)  Of course after our house has been on the market for months, and not one person looking at it ---THAT would be the day somebody wants to see it!!!!  And they called us today---they want to come back tomorrow evening to look again.  I have to be honest I'm really struggling with all this!  I know GOD has a place for us and that is the only place we want to be.
This feels like the beginning of a new phase of our lives.  Even if this turns into nothing...I know eventually we will be leaving this house.  And finally choosing a home together.  I have worked really hard on this house to make it a HOME for our family.  It's scary and exciting to think about going somewhere new with my sweet little family and making it our home all over again......
All for now...
