I decided awhile back to paint and distress my kitchen table legs and now I'm totally stuck. Here's a "before"
This photo is a little deceiving because of the flash. The dark legs kind of blend into the dark floor so I wanted to go lighter on the legs
Here they are primed..
Then a dark grey which I wanted to show through this light grey (our bedroom color)
I am an avid fan of Purdy paint brushes. You'll notice they are kept in the cover. If you do any painting at all you'll find that when it comes to brushes (and paint as well...) you get what you pay for.
So the light grey went on and it looks ok but when I started to distress it with the sand paper I hated the whole thing. I don't even have a photo of that.
I'm waiting for inspiration to strike...;)
OK, explain what you don't like, the lightness, the gray color, etc. What do you want to show? How about dipping a rag into some stain and lightly going over the gray to give it a little darkening, you can always paint over it again.
ReplyDeleteKeep trying, you will get it.
