One more time

This piece of furniture was the very first thing I ever found in the trash :)  I drug it home and refinished it probably about 11 years ago.
You can see a "before" picture here on my Pickers page.
Doodlebug used a screwdriver to "help" some holes get bigger so I couldn' t really keep it wood....I've been thinking about redoing this piece since like February.  So FINALLY it made it to the garage.  I sanded with 220 sandpaper and wiped it down with deglosser just to get the corners really good.  Painted the inside with "Sea Salt Blue"
Bought these cute little legs and mounting plates at Lowe's.  They were about $18.
Painted the outside with "Cracked Pepper".  This is the same color combination I used on the bookshelf we just re-did.  Painted the legs up...and then waxed the whole thing.
Now we have a brand new entertainment center!!!! And all for just about $20 in supplies and some elbow grease from yours truly.

I think the legs are great....They really change the way it looks.
This is all part of the master plan in my head to change and redo my living room :)  So far I've spent about $100.  That's for the slipcovers, pillow shams, two new rugs, the entertainment center, and I did some things with what I already had on hand. More photos to come....
And this piece came from our dining room so I rearranged furniture in there too....:) my brain NEVER stops people.  It felt good to finally get this idea out of my head!

  1. Seriously..miss crafty pants...too cute!!! It reminds me of your dresser! Love it!

  2. I hear ya on the brain wave thing. Sometimes I can't sleep for hours because there are so many ideas and plans going through my head. It's fun but sometimes very frustrating. Your piece turned out nice. The legs definitely add that "extra" it was needing.

  3. Awesome.. Love the handcrafted pieces... Great vision.
