Fall

 Things are changing a lot around here...

it's been a crazy month.  

My son started school this fall going a half day to kindergarten and after meeting with his teacher we  decided to move him to full day....

 I wasn't really ready for that one...So now he's gone all day and I get to enjoy Mighty by herself...

 And my husband's job was affected by the government shutdown so that definitely rocked our "normal" this month...

 Mostly I'm trying to enjoy fall...

Thankful for my family and the beauty that God created on this Earth for us to enjoy.  I don't really love winter but I do love the change of seasons.

And there is so much there if you just look...slowing down is hard for me.

My brain is always in high gear ---

full of family and responsibilities, serving at our church and creative ideas of new things I 'd love to make or do....

 But just this morning I read "Be still and know that I am God..."  

So glad He is...

Boy Mom

 This is how I know I'm a boy mom....

 I'm babysitting the baby toad I caught while mowing.

My little son LOVES all creatures....

talks to them and wants to take care of them.

He has such a tender heart....

 He set up a whole little habitat for him to jump around in including a little swimming pool and a diving board...

which oddly enough Toady seems to be enjoying...

Now my job is to babysit Toady---

To make sure the chickens don't eat him of course....

It 's so good to get away!  We haven't gone anywhere since before Doodlebug was born...I mean not even a week-end away somewhere....

My mom wanted our whole family to go away together so this past week end we went to Hocking Hills...

We had a great time fishing, a little hiking, alot of eating :)

 Family is good....

Silver"wares"

 Stamped on some old silverware this morning....

 And we actually saw the SUN today for the first time in a LONG time.

These are headed to Winsome Cottage along with the table and chairs....still more to come.  No word on our house yet.  We have someone interested but no offer yet.  Still praying.  And trying to be good "waiters" :)

Week-end

My Husband got the nest down!!!  Even though it was sitting on top of the power lines...

  and I added Doodlebug's chalk eggs :)

Doodlebug is enjoying all the nice weather....

My husband spent some time pinstriping a cool car.....a 46 Ford

This is the day...

This is the day that the Lord hath made....on days like today I think of that song.

 What a GORGEOUS day to be outside!!!

 and while I was out there enjoying all that happy sunshine the UPS guy stopped and delivered this....  for Mighty's bed....I'm getting really excited about painting the kids' room!!!!

 Doodlebug got to do a little of this....his all time FAVORITE thing when it's nice out....

 And I did this...we so desperately need a new front door and porch lights...that will probably happen this summer.  We'll see.....

 The ladder was my grandpa's and it's falling apart!  But I love it.  The enamel wash pan and watering can were both trash finds by my Dad.

 My husband's uncle gave us the sap bucket.  And then see that scoop in the enamel pan???  (I shopped our garage) We have this adorable little birds' nest.....

 Waaaaaayyyy up high.  I have to sweetly ask my husband to retrieve that little number....to sit in the scoop!

 I actually had the ladder out and propped against the house.....but we don't have a good one and it didn't quite reach then our sweet, next door neighbor saw me and offered to help.  He decided against it and that was probably a good thing....I'm sure he was thinking "she is crazy!"

 My gate was a trash find too....under a bridge somewhere my dad was inspecting.....

 And the daffodils are coming!!!!!  They actually have buds on them and will be blooming any day....

Spring is FINALLY here!!!!!
