Knitted Mittens

One of the things my venture into blogging has helped me with is photographing my work.
I try really hard to keep track of everything I make but sometimes I get so excited to give it to whoever it's going to that I forget!

So... I made two sets of these mittens for Christmas (one for my Sister-in-Law and one for my niece)  and totally forgot to photograph them...
this is a set I decided to make for myself.
And these have a crochet cuff instead of a ribbed knitted cuff (which is what 's on the pattern)
My first attempt at knitting in the round with double ended needles...

and I have to say it wasn't nearly as hard as I thought it would be.
And adding the thumb wasn't such a big deal either....so here's the pattern (which I altered from another pattern I found) to work with the yarn I wanted to be able to use....

You'll need:
 ~5 double ended needles , US size 6 (4mm)
~I used Bernat (bulky) Roving one skein of "Low Tide" and one skein of "Rice Paper"
Super cozy!!!  And just in time it just got cold here where we are....
